Traits describe additional rules that affect a card. These are always in effect, unless stated otherwise.
Some traits include placeholders, noted with [x]. These are replaced by the values noted on the relevant card. A unit could for example have the “Magic, Arcane 3” trait. In this case replace the [x] with “Arcane 3” when reading the rules.
The damage from this Unit’s attacks can not be reduced in any way. (It can be avoided though)
Armoured [x]
Every cleanup phase, if this Unit has less than x Armoured-Markers on it, fill its Armoured-Markers up to x.
Blitz
This Unit may act and move in the turn it was placed on the board.
Camouflage
This Unit can not be targeted by Ranged- or Artillery Units.
Caster [x]
This Unit may use its Action to activate an Effect Card with the Spell trait. This is only possible if they have the same magic type and the Units caster level is at least as high as the Effect Card’s spell level.
i.e. a Unit with “Caster, Arcane 2” could activate an Effect Card with “Spell, Arcane 1”. It could not activate one with “Spell, Divine 1” or “Spell, Arcane 3”
Defender
Once per turn when a neighboring Unit is selected as the target of an attack, this Unit may chose to become the target instead. Swap the places of this Unit and the original target of the attack.
First Strike
This Unit may take a Reaction Strike before taking damage from the attacking Unit. If this Reaction Strike kills the attacking Unit, this Unit takes no damage from its attack.
This Unit’s attacks do not trigger a Reaction Strike.
Flight
This Unit can move through Hexes occupied by other Units. It must still end its movement on an unoccupied Hex.
Inspiring [x]
Allied neighboring Units receive +x ATK.
Rapid Fire
This Unit may attack twice with each Attack action.
Regeneration [x]
This Unit may attack twice with each Attack action.
Slow
This Unit may move or act each Action Phase but not both.
Spell [x]
This Effect Card can only be activated by a Unit with the Caster trait. (See Caster)
